The Flyers are in a rough patch right now, and it’s frustrating to watch. They just dropped another one yesterday (January 31, 2026), falling 3-2 in overtime to the Los Angeles Kings at home.

As usual, the Flyers rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to tie it up, but Quinton Byfield scored the OT winner for LA. That makes it a four-game losing streak (0-3-1 in their last four), and they’ve been outscored heavily in several of those.Looking at the recent slide:
- Jan 31: Lost 3-2 OT vs. Kings
- Jan 29: Lost 6-3 vs. Bruins
- Jan 28: Lost 5-3 @ Blue Jackets
- Jan 26: Lost 4-0 @ Islanders
The team’s record sits at 24-20-10, still hanging around the Metropolitan Division but slipping fast—11 losses in their last 13 games (2-8-3). Early leads against them, poor starts, defensive lapses, and inconsistent finishing have been recurring themes. Even when they battle back (like yesterday), they can’t close it out.

They are “falling apart quickly, faster than quick sand.” It’s that kind of collapse where they find creative ways to drop points even when they show fight. The next one’s against the Washington Capitals on February 3 which won’t be easy.
Hang in there—hockey streaks like this suck, but the season’s long. What’s your take on what’s breaking down most right now? Coaching adjustments, goaltending regression, or just bad puck luck?
