Let me start this piece off by saying- It feels so good to be back writing for the great Flyers Knitty Gritty team, and back preparing for such an unusual return to the NHL playoffs. That’s right, the playoffs, and the Philadelphia Flyers will be back to finish what they started.

The Flyers currently sit in 2nd place in the Metropolitan Division with 89 points (One Point behind the Washington Capitals, who currently have 90 points), and 4th in the Eastern Conference, behind the Boston Bruins (100 points), Washington Capitals (90 points), and the Tampa Bay Lightning (92 points). When the season came to an abrupt halt due to the Coronavirus, the Flyers were playing the best hockey in the NHL and had really proved that they can compete with the best. Moreover, they proved to the World they could contend for the Stanley Cup. With all this being said, the fans of Philadelphia have a lot to be pumped up for when hockey reconvenes. Not to mention, but I will, Summertime playoffs! Are you kidding me baby- it’s going to be hot outside, and cool on the ice. Someone get me some Ice for that cold beverage Baby!!! Most people can’t wait for the team to get under way!!!

Now, for the second part of our “Welcome back Flyers” article. I want to take the time to focus on a dear fan of the Flyers who has had some ups and downs over the past three months. On March 20, 2020, I received news that due to COVID-19 I had lost my job.  It was a tough time for sure. Sports were being cancelled, and I was out of work. Sometime after, I myself developed symptoms, and became quite ill. Unfortunately, I caught the terrible virus, and was fearful of my life. My family was alone, my friends were unable to be there. It was a dark two weeks for me. I got better, I fought, I battled, and I won. Over time I was able to regain my strength. When that happened, I grabbed a stick and puck, and went to the local arena to play. I missed the game, I missed being part of a team. Whether, if it was with work, with Flyers Nitty Gritty, my family, or with the hockey team. I am happy to announce that I will be returning back to work in the future. Fortunately, I am happy and healthy with my family, and I am back writing for the best Flyers page around. Thank you to all who have supported me, and the site through the difficult times. Now let’s go get us a cup! Can you feel it Flyers fans, “Can you Smellllll la-la-la what G is cooking.”

That’s my Story and I am sticking to it!
