Philadelphia Flyers New Era

There is no denying that the Flyers are in the midst of rebuild, and according to many top brass in this organization they want to do it the right way. It all starts with effective communication, and that is what the top brass has gotten better with-communication with the fans. Not only the fans, but the players and personnel, as well. Dan Hilferty, Keith Jones, and Danny Briere have not shied away from interviews, or have said congratulations in the locker room following a big victory.

Dave Scott, Valerie Camillo, and Chuck Fletcher rarely came into the Flyers locker room following a game, whether they won or lost. The new Flyers regime appears to be in the locker room after every game nearly. This is on top of their busy schedule of watching the Phantoms, with eyeing potential moves in the future. It’s just a breath of fresh air these days in Flyer Land, and that’s partly the reason why the locker room is infectious with a positive environment. This has propelling them to a 7-0-1 record in their past eight games played.

Over the course of the 2022-23 season, John Tortorella sent out multiple letters to Flyers season ticket holders and the orange and black’s proud faithful for that matter. He was very honest with his message, but at that particular time he was the only one who was in good graces with the fans. Today is a new day, as the Flyers endure a “New Era”.

This letter above could be compared to the New York Rangers letter that their season ticket holders received back in February 2018 from Glen Sather and Jeff Gorton.

Yes, the Flyers have a long ways to go in repairing the relationship between the top brass, the players, and fans, however, this was a step in the right direction. Do this day, the Flyers new regime has not wavered from their stance in this regard and they have been fully transparent in terms of communicating with the fans and players alike.

It starts with honesty and integrity, to which all five of the new management team posseses. In no particular order here is the new leadership team of the Flyers, according to the Flyers Board of Governor Dan Hilferty:

Dan Hilferty- CEO of Comcast, Governor of the Flyers

Phil Laws- (President of the new Wells Fargo Center)

Keith Jones- President of Hockey Operations

Danny BriereGeneral Manager

John Tortorella- Head Coach

“I have full confidence that both Keith and Danny – together with Coach Tortorella, Valerie and me – are the right leadership team to guide the Philadelphia Flyers. We are unanimously committed to rebuilding and sustaining a winning culture – and doing it the right way,” said Hilferty via a Flyers Press release yesterday.

This process will not correct itself over night, but over time it can and this is a step in the right direction to repairing the damage that was done by the prior regime. As previously mentioned, it starts with honesty and being fully transparent with the fans.
