It comes as no shock that the Flyers are reportedly close to a trade with the Ottawa Senators. The two teams have talked around the trade deadline, and I personally have heard them linked to Jake Sanderson, Jakob Chychrun, Thomas Chabot, Erik Brännström, and Shane Pinto to name a few.
Yesterday, it was reported by Travis Yost that the Flyers and Senators have a deal in place, but they are waiting until near the draft to complete it.
I reported that last weekend that the Senators were close to a deal with numerous teams, as each we’re waiting for the Stanley Cup to become complete to wheel and deal.
I’m also hearing that Shane Pinto’s camp is looking for a 5 or 6 year deal, worth at least $5 million per season. In the same token, will Brännström sign his qualifying offer with the Senators, or could that be one reason Ottawa shops him?
Could one of Scott Laughton, Joel Farabee, or Travis Konecny be heading to Ottawa? Are the Flyers trying to move up to pick 7 to draft possibly Ivan Demidov if he falls, or do the Flyers love Sam Dickinson so they try to move up and snag him?
All could be possibilities and they are endless until the trade is official. The Flyers are tight lipped, my information has actually come from the Ottawa side. From all I’m gathering, Brännström could very well be part of the deal in some way. What other assets are coming from Ottawa, that I’m still trying to piece together. I’m going to continue to talk with sources to piece together this trade, until then speculate away!!!! The one thing that scares me is the trade is not finalized, so it still has a chance at falling apart, especially since it may not be completed until closer to the draft.
