The Delaware Thunder are back, and back with a vengeance in Harrington, DE. For the first time in nearly two years. The Thunder played at the Thunderdome last night. Of course, it was sold out as Thunder fans waved their cowbells, and wore their Viking hats to the game.
The proud Thunder fans had something to cheer about early as Ryan “Magic” Marker got them on the board first through his shifty moves. He plays in all situations the coaching staff asks of him, and he wanted to play closer to his hometown of New Jersey. Marker is an excellent skater that has great acceleration or a first step, has great vision of the ice, and can hit the net nine times out of ten. He finished the game with two goals and one assist, and Marker is a huge Flyers fan.
This young Thunder team came into the Binghamton Black Bears game on a high after a good week of practice, as they were stoked to play in front their home crowd finally once again after nearly a two year layoff. They looked great early and the sold out crowd was loving it, but the Black Bears scored the next five goals to take a 5-2 lead, before Dale Deon and Ryan Marker made the game interesting, cutting the Black Bears lead to 5-4.
Fortunately, the Thunder had their legs early in this one, as it gave them a will to at least make it a game. Unfortunately, the Black Bears added a goal to win the game 6-4.
With Marker’s two goals and one assist, he is now tied for the league lead in points with seven in the FPHL. They will try to get revenge on the Black Bears tonight in a rematch in Binghamton.
Dale Deon
The Thunder are hoping to become a consistent hockey team this season. Getting off to a good start early in the season was a must for this young bunch, but things haven’t turned out that way. Enter Deon to provide the Thunder with a much needed scoring punch on the backend.

Deon potted a goal last night, and gas chipped in one assist on the season. Getting scoring from the defense this season, will just add another dimension to the Thunder’s arsenal this year. Currently the team sits at 0-3, but this is a long season.
