The Delaware Thunder had many unknowns in just their first season in Harrington, DE, at an arena that would become known as the “Thunderdome.” Who would have thought the people of the first state would gravitate towards the sport of hockey the way that Thunder fans did? That’s exactly what transpired, low and behold the people of the first state fell in love with this team. They fell in love with it’s personality of leaving everything out on the ice. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 and the state regulations that have been presented to the Thunder last season. They were forced to close their doors:
“As a hockey guy this was a tough decision to make, but the right one. I stand behind it 100%. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the fans, players, staff, and corporate sponsors.”– Owner of the Thunder Charlie Pens Sr.
It was a sad day, of course, for the proud faithful of the Thunder. However, brighter days remain ahead as the Thunder embark on a new 2021-22 season. They are back folks, the Thunder are back, and so is a proud Flyers fan in a great hockey player in Ryan “Magic” Marker. He plays in all situations the coaching staff asks of him, and he wanted to play closer to his hometown of New Jersey. Marker is an excellent skater that has great acceleration or a first step, has great vision of the ice, and can hit the net nine times out of ten.
