In a surprising move sort of speak, now that the trade deadline is complete. The Philadelphia Flyers fired General Manager Chuck Fletcher due to the teams lack of success and direction moving forward exactly one week ago Chuck Fletcher stated “I’m not worried about my job.” They also relieved him of his duties as team President:

“Flyers fans deserve a better team than what they’ve seen on the ice over the past few seasons, and a return this team to Stanley Cup contention. We know that this will be a multi-year process we want to put this franchise on a path toward winning the Stanley Cup.” – Dave Scott

Fletcher, who was the ninth GM of this team since December 3, 2018, joined the Flyers after a so-so pedigree from the Minnesota Wild organization. In four plus seasons at the helm, the Flyers have a record of 141-144-42 as GM of the Flyers, and has only made one trip to the post-season during this tenure.

Let’s see how deep this will go, the buck will not stop there. I’m hearing there are more changes to the hockey operations department. It will not occur today, but it will occur in the near future. For the time being Danny Briere will be the interim GM for the rest of the season at least, and he will be every shot to have or stay as the GM of the Flyers following this season.
