The good news keeps pouring in for Flyers prospects. Two days after potting four goals against Cape Breton in an onslaught 10-2 victory for the Halifax Mooseheads. Desnoyers has been voted as QMJHL Player of the Week (Ultram Player of the Week).

A well deserved honor for Desnoyers, who has been widely known as a defensive first type player as I wrote yesterday. Desnoyers was part of well stacked Moncton Wildcat club last year, and really didn’t get a chance to showcase his skills. It was expected, but Desnoyers has been stellar since his trade to the Halifax Mooseheads. Desnoyers has tallied six goals to pair along with six assists for 12 points in just eight games played.

Desnoyers has really showed off his skills offensively for the Mooseheads. He’s a versatile player who can play both Center and Wing, and one that possesses a heavy lethal wrist shot. Desnoyers is infused with much confidence this season, and really is happy to be a part of Philadelphia:

“When I first think about Philadelphia, I think about the movies. Rocky, I grew up watching them with my brothers and always was a big part of when I was a child. When I think about Philadelphia, I think about Flyers for sure. I’ve always watched Montreal when I was young. I remember watching the tough Flyers and I love how they compete hard and how hard they work every day. It’s great to be drafted there.”- Elliot Desnoyers said on Draft day

Hopefully his hot streak continues this week. Elliot is quickly making a name for himself in the City of Philadelphia.

  1. He reminds me of a shorter Courtier, who was a great scorer in junior hockey but was suppressed in the NHL by usage on the 3/4 defensive lines because he was such a good defensive offenseman. Now that Courtier has been moved to 1/2 line, he gets to showcase his great scoring ability and hopefully the Flyers will develop Desnoyers into a 2nd line wing and not a 4th line penalty killer…
