The final round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs is underway, with the defending champs squaring off against a tough and gritty Montreal Canadiens team. Some big key plays were made, now let’s welcome back for a Stanley Cup final special: What was taken away from Game 1?
Canadiens blanked on the power play
Montreal had a few good opportunities to score some goals with the man
advantage. The stellar play of the Tampa Bay goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy and tough penalty kill,
blanked the Canadiens from scoring with the chances they had. They went 0-2 on the
power play. Philly bartender from the Northeast, Danielle Carr, live from “The
Taggart House” hosted a great Stanley cup gathering. I asked Danielle what she
thought about the power-play not getting the job done, “You want to win the cup,
you have to score with every chance you get, especially on the power play.“
It was a great time at a local Philly bar filled with Flyers fans, cheering for the eventual Cup winner.
“A game of hittin boys”
Game one came with goals, and some serious hitting. Both teams combined for 115 hits, the
physical play showed up. Tampa Bay lead the game with 58 hits, and the Canadiens finished with 57 hits. The expectations are high now for a tough, physical game. Who will come out on top, and with the less injuries.
What a start to the Stanley Cup Final. Tampa bay comes out on top with a great performance. Who will win game 2?
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it
