Sources confirm in a lawsuit filed by Jim McCrossin and Sal Raffa along with their wives, against ownership. McCrossin and Raffa believe they contracted a rare form of cancer from Zambonis as it uses “gasoline and/or fuel containing and/or producing carcinogens.”
The story was first reported by Anthony San Filippo by Crossingbroad.
Raffa has worked alongside McCrossin since 2004, and he states he developed “Rare medical condition of essential thrombocythemia, which is incurable,” from the carcinogens of the Zambonis.
The Flyers said in a statement, per Anthony San Filippo’s report:
“The safety of our employees and guests at the Flyers Training Center and all of our facilities is always a top priority for us,” the Flyers said in a statement. “We have looked into the allegations made by Jim McCrossin and Sal Raffa over the course of several months, and, based on that, believe that their claims have no merit. Beyond that, we cannot comment further given that this matter is in litigation.”
The complaint was filed by Kline & Specter on behalf of McCrossin, Raffa, and their wives Holly Raffa and Robyn McCrossin. There are a total of 11 defendants.

Prayers for McCrossin, Raffa, and their wives, just a real shame.
Don’t the other 31 teams use Zamboni’s? Dont hear any complaints from them.
