The Flyers officially recalled forward Carl Grundström from their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Quick facts
- Why now? Grundström has been on fire in the AHL: five points (including three goals) in his last three games and six points in 11 GP overall. The Flyers needed a spark after loaning Jacob Gaucher down, and with Tyson Foerster still nursing a lower-body injury. prohockeyrumors.com
- Background: The 27-year-old Swede came to Philly on October 5 in the Ryan Ellis cap-dump trade with San Jose. He cleared waivers the next day and has been dominating in Lehigh Valley ever since.
- What to expect: He’s a gritty, physical bottom-6 winger (172 hits last year with the Sharks). He gives Philly 13 healthy forwards and could slot in tomorrow vs. Ottawa—or push someone like Nic Deslauriers or Nikita Grebenkin for ice time.
