After a quiet offseason primarily for the Flyers, in terms of change, the orange and black will run back the same team that finished with one of the worst seasons historically in franchise history. The team finished two losses away from matching the franchise’s all-time single-season worst total of 48 set by the 2006-07 club. However, the Flyers have added to their arsenal, on paper, what appears to be a good coaching staff with the likes of a no nonsense coach finally in John Tortorella, Brad Shaw, and Rocky Thompson.

The Flyers will endure a grueling Training Camp, and the players were warned of such at Tortorella’s open press conference, “I am going to coach that team hard right away,” Tortorella said. It’s going to be a very difficult camp. High volume skating. They will be told about this during the summer. We’re attacking it.”

Amongst the latest Vets that have returned early for camp, three weeks early to be exact, are Travis Konecny, Travis Sanheim, Cam Atkinson, and Zack MacEwen. They join some young players that have been there all Summer with the likes of Joel Farabee, Tyson Foerster, Wyatte Wylie, Tony DeAngelo, Egor Zamula, and Cam York. Wade Allison and Hayden Hodgson have both been skating since Monday in Voorhees.

How the Flyers will perform this season is anyone’s guess, but one thing remains certain the Vets are getting in shape for a “Grueling” camp, the first under new Head Coach John Tortorella.
