Flyers fans needed some good news and they got it. Sean Couturier did not play in Saturday’s contest against the New York Islanders as he was out with an apparent hip injury as Flyers Head Coach Alain Vigneault exclaimed today.

Our immediate thoughts are thank God it’s not serious, the 28-year-old standout has proved to the entire league that he’s a force to be reckoned with. Coots is the heart and soul of this young Flyers team. There is no doubt he was the MVP of the team. When Couturier’s name was called for the team MVP award last year, there were plenty of orange-clad fans roaring Cooooooooooots, to go along with the Let’s Go Flyers chants.

Couturier has been solid early this season, so the Flyers can ill afford to miss him as they are trying to right the ship on their season. He has tallied six goals, and registered 13 assists on the season in just 18 games played.

It’s never easy losing your number one Center, and one that plays so well offensively, as well as, defensively. Sean Couturier is vital to overall success of the Flyers. He would definitely help the Flyers tonight, who’s playoff lives appear to be on life support right now.
