When referencing a soldier like Scott Laughton. It was definitely hard to part ways with this savvy Veteran, however, at the end of the day Laughton knew exactly where he stood within the organization, before he was moved to the Toronto Maple Leafs, “I understand it’s a business and Danny and Jonesy have to do what is best for the group in the future. I’m trying to help this team win and make a little push here.”

Laughton continued, “It’s the same thing every year. I understand the business side of it. But, I signed a five-year contract here, and that’s pretty much it. If they have to make a move, they have to make it. I’ll continue to go business as usual. If I have those conversations down the line, then we do and go from there.”

That was then and this is now. Tonight Laughton please, his former team for the first time since being traded to Toronto. He expresses the biggest change from Philadelphia to Toronto is being noticed on the street, “Walking down the street, probably getting more attention than in Philly. That’s probably the biggest change,” Laughton says. He really praises the Leafs faithful, seeing all the Leafs fans at the hotel in Leaf jerseys.

Laughton continued to talk about who he looks forward to be playing the most tonight, “Konecny. We’ve talked about it our whole careers. We like to chirp a little bit, but it will be funny seeing him on the other side. It’s another game, maybe a little bit more important, but it’s going to be weird.”

He talked about Tortorella, as well, today. As everyone knows, Tortorella always spoke highly of Laughton. I mean Tortorella made him an Assistant Captain.

“Torts gets a bad rep in the media,” Laughton said. “He’s a players coach, you can go in and talk to him at anytime.” Laughton praises both him and his current coach Craig Berube. He said he likes to know where a player stands, and both coaches do a good job at that.

Laughts continues, “It’s going to be weird. I was able to see the guys last night (Sunday). I was able to take out the trainers and support staff that was there for the whole time. It’s going to be weird, but hopefully I beat them. It’s cool to be playing important hockey this time of year, I haven’t done it in a little bit.”

Whatever the case maybe, it will be fun to see this game between Laughton and the Flyers.
