Samuel Ersson struggled early last season with momentum saves, that would eventually turn the page on the game in the Flyers favor. Fast forward to this season, not so much. He has been a stone wall for the most part.

Unfortunately, he left today’s Flyers game with an injury in the first period. He will be out with a lower body injury, per the Flyers.

Flyers’ Head Coach John Tortorella has used him effectively over the course of the past month. Ersson has been pretty impressive with his rebound control, and he has made timely saves most notably against the St. Louis Blues.. He moves laterally from post to post well, and Tortorella continues to praise him, “.Team likes playing in front of him. Easy guy to play for,” Tortorella said following the Blues game. â€śSam’s playing well. Not great numbers, but he’s playing well. From camp on he’s played very well.”

Ersson has been spectacular for the Flyers between the pipes after the first month of the season. He’s made timely saves after being peppered trying to keep his team in it early, and also key saves in big moments to keep the Flyers engines going. Ersson continues to receive praise from Danny Briere and John Tortorella alike,

“”Erss was great, especially in that first period,” Scott Laughton said this past Tuesday.

“”You know he’s going to show up and play every game,” Nick Seeler said last night.

Hopefully, the injury isn’t serious, and he will return soon.

  1. This is and has been another retooling for the Flyers And guess what ? We are all sick of it Just do what you say you are doing, but not doing How bout targeting some young players who aren’t playing much ( Tomasino – Preds, the devils just sent down Seamus Casey, ect… )
Oh and we are all also sick of the overpaying and insane long contracts
