Sam Ersson was outstanding last night! He made 24 saves on 25 shots in the Flyers’ 2-1 road win over the Vegas Golden Knights on January 19, 2026, snapping their six-game losing streak (0-5-1). This was Ersson’s guest victory of 2026, as it was his first victory since December 23, 2025 against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Travis Konecny scored both goals for Philly (both on breakaways, including a big short-handed one in the third), while Ersson was clutch, especially late when he shut down Vegas’ 6-on-4 push after they pulled the goalie. It was a huge bounce-back game for him after a rough stretch—he hadn’t allowed just one goal or fewer in most of his recent starts. Great to see the Flyers get the “W” against a hot Vegas team (their seven-game win streak ended).

“He’s not feeling sorry for himself, at practice he knows what to do. He took the ball, and closed the game for us,” Flyers’ Head Coach Rick Tocchet says of Sam Ersson.
Next up, they’re continuing the road trip against Utah on Wednesday.
