The Flyers have been looking for consistency, a spark, some energy, so Flyers’ General Manager Chuck Fletcher of Tanner Laczynski this offseason. Laczynski was also mentioned by Flyers Head Coach Alain Vigneault as possibly filling in with Kevin Hayes missing the first few weeks of the season. Unfortunately, Laczynski will have surgery on his other hip, as his season was cut short last season with an eventual right hip surgery. This is a long-term injury, per Alain Vigneault, and

Laczynski, a sixth round draft pick from the 2016 NHL Draft, has really performed well for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms last season by amassing six goals, while chipping in four assists in 14 games played.

Laczynski was born June 1, 1997, in Shorewood, IL. He chose to attend Ohio State University, and after completing his tenure with the Buckeyes Men’s Ice Hockey team, Laczynski amassed 48 goals, and 95 assists for a total of 143 points in 138 games played.

“I just have to continue to work hard, and realize I’m not even close to where I want to be as a player. I’m happy, but not satisfied with the season. It starts with another strong offseason gaining strength, weight, speed, and transferring that to help my skill set on the ice.” – Tanner Laczynski told Jamey Baskow last year

Head Coach Alain Vigneault trusted this young forward in a huge game against the New York Islanders last season. He is a strong power forward that plays the game the right way. Laczynski plays a two-way game and can adapt to any situation the coaching staff asks of him. He is versatile as he can play both the Penalty Kill and Power Play, and is teachable. He just wants to succeed, if you want him to block shots no problem.

It is no secret that the Flyers have been restocking the farm system the past few seasons. Eventually we will see how all this pans out in the coming years. Will all these young prospects work out maybe not, but the majority of them hopefully will. Add Laczynski to the list of players to watch for in the future. He has a never say die attitude who never gives up, and that alone will make him a fan favorite here in Philadelphia.

  1. It is too difficult to read your articles. The grammar and writing is atrocious. You must not re-read your articles because sentences like “The Flyers have been looking for consistency, a spark, some energy, so Flyers’ General Manager Chuck Fletcher of Tanner Laczynski this offseason” make no sense. What is that?
    Or this?
“Will all these young prospects work out maybe not, but the majority of them hopefully will.”
    How about
“Will all these young prospects work out? Maybe not, bu the majority of them hopefully will.”
    Horrible- F
