First Period
Tyler Heidt kicked things off with a bang sniping it past the glove of Harmon for his first professional goal and sure was it a doozy. In the period the Royals outshot the Gladiators 18-10 but only led on the score 1-0.
“I’ve only been here a week and the fans the way they’ve treated me and the guys is awesome”

Second Period
Evan Barrat poked home the only goal in the frame as he continues to stay hot. Barrat knocked this goal in with one hand and lifted it top shelf for his 18th of the season and 2nd point of the night. Reading continued to outshoot Atlanta as they led the shots 31-19 heading into the third.
Third Period
Zach Yoder of the Gladiators received a five minute major and game misconduct for “butt-ending’ at 3:35. As the five minute major power play was coming to an end and seemed like it was being wasted, Alec Butcher found twine sniping it past the glove of the netminder Harmon for his 16th of the season at 8:15. Billy Constantinou put Atlanta on the board one-timing it through Nagle for his 6th of the season. Sanghoon Shin would make things interesting and bring things within one sliding the puck five-hole for his 25th of the season. Following that the Royals would hold on with stellar defense and some key saves from veteran netminder, Pat Nagle.
I’d like for us to perform better in the third period, as the full 20 minutes there but just have to find ways to win games as cliche as that is, it’s important for us to find ways. You’re gonna be against teams that are able to generate quality scoring chances, you have to find a way to weather that situation. For us to find a way to win that important and hopefully the group has learned from how that game finished up.
Head Coach James Henry thoughts on 3rd Period, following the game
Evan Barrat has recorded six points in the last two games along with 13 goals in his last nine.
We stick together, we knew they were gonna bring out their best today its a tough league everyone wants to win and they’re fighting for a playoff spot. We knew they were gonna come out a little hard and luckily we got up to a little lead and they fought back props to them but we found a way to shut it down and we’re lucky to get two points.
