Ronnie Attard, at one time was one of the most underrated prospects in the Flyers system. There simply were not enough outlets that talking about Attard at one time when he played for Western Michigan University. For his efforts, Attard inked a two-year ELC as the NCAA season came to a halt for Western Michigan, “I bonded with a lot of the guys here, a lot of the younger guys,” Attard said following the 3-on-3 tournament at Developmental Camp. “Cutter was my roommate. Him and Kaplan have known each other for a while, so they’ve been hanging out with us too. It’s just good getting to know everyone. Spending a week with these guys, you get to know their personalities and just a lot of fun time this week.”

“I’m going to go back home for the next month here,” Attard said. “For the next month and a half train at the USA Hockey arena and just continue to work on my speed and strength. I’ll probably be back in Philly around late August and just get ready for camp.” He’s not a flashy Right-Handed Defenseman, but he gets the job done. Attard finished the season with 12 goals, 20 assists, and was a +15. Attard appeared to be confident and poised this season as he drove the play up the ice, and netted a few hat tricks in the process.

One underrated part to Attard’s game is his shot from the point. He is highly accurate with his shot, and it’s a heavy one. Attard can hit the net nine times out of 10, and really is a solid skater. This can really help the Flyers in the future with the man advantage. Current Head Coach John Tortorella spoke to the prospects at Developmental Camp and he said it was going to be a competitive camp in the Fall, ” I just know it’s going to be a competitive environment after listening to Coach Tortorella and what he had to say,” Attard said. “No one’s given anything here. Come in and work. You just got to earn your job wherever you go. That’s how it’s going to be the rest of the way up. You’re entitled to nothing. You just got to come ready to work.”

Lastly, Ronnie Attard, a 2018 gifted Flyers draft pick, Right-Handed defenseman, who is vying for a spot out of camp in the Fall. He became the seventh Flyer to make his NHL Debut last season (8th eventually when Bobby Brink made his NHL Debut soon after Attard): Hayden Hodgson, Linus Sandin, Max Willman, Brink, and Attard. Attard really has showed the Flyers top brass that he has great vision of the ice, and that his passing abilities rank off the charts, “I think that was really good for my development,” Attard said of the NCAA. “The first two years, I don’t think I was ready. Everyone’s got a different path to the NHL. For me, it worked out well being able to play that extra year of juniors and play three years at college. I believe I am physically ready now.”
