Flyers’ Forward Rodrigo Abols has been named to Team Latvia’s preliminary roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina.
Abols is one of the first six players announced, alongside Uvis Balinskis, Teddy Blueger, Zemgus Girgensons, Elvis Merzlikins, and Arturs Silovs. This marks his second Olympic appearance, having previously competed at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, where he recorded two points (one goal, one assist) in four games.
A 29-year-old forward in Abols plays for the Flyers. He also contributed significantly in the 2024 Olympic qualifiers, while scoring three points (one goal, two assists) in a 4-2 win over Slovenia.
