Tyson Foerster’s injury status comes from a great reporter Anthony SanFilippo. He is indicating that the Flyers fear he may miss the start of the 2025-26 NHL season due to an upper-body injury. Apparently, he has sustained an infection on his arm, following an injury at the World Championships.

It got progressively worse, after he came back from Worlds. The infection has spread, and the Flyers medical staff and their doctors are trying to stabilize the situation, then determining how much time he may miss. At this rate, Foerster and his injury is at a standstill.

No further details will be given on this matter until the Flyers and their organization releases such.

Context

Last week, I received a random direct message from a source on X, saying that Foerster sustained an injury to his arm, and they didn’t know about the severity. I didn’t want to believe it at first, but apparently the source is correct.

For context, Foerster has had injury setbacks in the past. In February 2024, he suffered a minor lower-body injury after blocking a shot, missing a few games but returning shortly after. Earlier in his career, in 2021, he dealt with a shoulder injury that sidelined him for several months, and he also sustained a broken tibia in February 2021 during an AHL game.
