Cam Atkinson was placed on Injured Reserve (IR), per the Flyers media website last week. I really hope he hasn’t suffered a setback, as he was nearing a return. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case as he is done for the season, per Anthony SanFilippo:
From nearing ready for the home opener, to day to day, to week to week, back to day to day per Atkinson himself, to IR, to a season ending injury. I’m hearing he is slated for season ending surgery.
Let’s hope that Cam Atkinson makes a full recovery, and is able to return next season with no further problems. For now prayers and thoughts go to Atkinson and his family.
