Lehigh Valley Phantoms/Reading Royals Forward Matt Brown hails from Boston University. He is a scoring threat when he is on the ice. He finished second on the team in points to Lane Hutson with 47 last season. Moreover, Brown was tied for the team lead with 16 goals, and second on the team in assists with 31. Brown just has a knack for the net, even so much so, he was selected to represent the Reading Royals in the ECHL All-Star game.

“He drives our offense with his speed,” said first-year head coach Jay Pandolfo of Brown following a game last season. Brown has suited up in 22 games for the Royals this season, and has netted 11 goals and registered 17 assists (28P). Moreover, he has played in four games with the Phantoms this season, and has just registered one assist. Give him time to find his footing at the professional level, and let’s see what happens.

For now, this is an honor that I’m sure Brown is happy with. This is a great accomplishment in his first professional season.
