Rasmus Ristolainen looked sharp in his season debut last night! After missing the first 31 games (and basically nine months since his last game in March) recovering from triceps surgery, he jumped right back in against the Montreal Canadiens and put up a strong performance in the Flyers’ 4-1 win.

  • Nearly 20 minutes of ice time
  • +2 rating
  • 3 hits
  • 2 blocked shots
  • 1 takeaway
  • Drew a penalty

He had that massive clean hit on Juraj Slafkovský early on that fired up the team (and drew the penalty), and his legs held up great through the third period—no rust showing.Teammates were hyped:

  • Trevor Zegras called him “phenomenal… an absolute moose out there” and praised the hit.
  • Coach Rick Tocchet said he played really well for a guy out that long.

“I thought Risto played really well for us, for a guy that hasn’t played in the past 9 months and put forth that effort….” Tocchet said following the game.

Risto shared the same sentiment, and thought he played well, “Long time, lot of work, lot of hours. Feel really good. Excited to play with the guys. Vladdy played a great game, and has been really good all year.”
