Everyone knows by now how dismal this Flyers season has been, and how tough it was for the fans and media alike. Even in in abysmal season, Flyers team awards will still be presented as normal. Who will clean the house of team awards this year? Here are our predictions of the winners for all team awards:

MVP (Bobby Clarke Trophy)- Carter Hart

Best Defenseman (Barry Ashbee)- Nick Seeler

Nice Guy/Class Act (Yanick Dupre)- Justin Braun

Most Improved (Pelle Lindbergh)- Owen Tippett

Most Heart (Gene Hart)- Scott Laughton

Toyota Cup Winner- Carter Hart

Carter Hart

The young 24-year-old, 6’2 181 pound, Carter Hart has been the Flyers most steadiest and reliable Goaltender this season. This is been a transition year for the Flyers in terms of using a lot more younger players in areas that ordinarily would be held by vets, but Hart fared well for the most part. He did the could with the team in front of him.

He just wants to win as many games as possible. Hart wears his heart on his sleeve, and performs to the best of his abilities.

“I think he’s handled himself so well this year, probably our most consistent player, ups and downs, but he’s been a good Pro,” John Tortorella said of Hart.

“I wanted to finish the year off strong. The past few years I have finished the year off on the IR, so I wanted to finish the year off healthy and strong going into the Summer.”

Owen Tippett

Tippett winning the most improved the word is a well-deserved one for Tippett. This was actually a toss-up with Morgan Frost, it was a tough one to award. Actually I think both are deserving of this, Frost was out of the future plans according to most fans.

The Ginger in Tippett has managed to pot 24 goals and has registered 21 assists on the season. He has a great release, and one heck of a shot. Tippett just appears to be a confident player for Philadelphia, a player that needed and has benefited from a change of scenery.

Scott Laughton

Of course, the only person wearing a letter this season for the Flyers would win an award. Laughton is always at the forefront answering questions for his teammates, and he is always there for his teammates.

Laughton is one of Tortorella’s go-to’s when he wants to get a message across. Some could peg him to be the next captain of the Flyers whenever that may be. He’s been everything on and off the ice.

“As far as Laughts’ game, I don’t need to explain it to you guys,” Tortorella said earlier in the year. “He leaves it on the ice all the time. You can tell the spots I’m putting him in, we depend on him. Does he make mistakes? Yeah, but I’m going to go with him. I have a good feeling of who he is. He’s done some really good things for us.”

Congratulations to former Flyer Claude Giroux on registering 1,000 points for his career. What an amazing accomplishment.

He now sits with 1,001 points for his career.
