E174 – Will Michkov Become An NHL Center? (Ft. Bill Meltzer)
The story with Flyers prized prospect, Matvei Michkov, continues to get more interesting by the day. While Michkov was drafted as a natural winger, his current KHL coach has decided to challenge that by placing him in the center of the ice. Through the first four games of the KHL preseason, Michkov had 5 points in 4 games. This is a sudden to surprise to a lot of fans who already assumed that he would be in NHL winger, but now possibilities open up. Now the Flyers don’t just have elite prospect, Cutter Gauthier, being developed as a center by his NCCA squad, but now the best prospect this organization has had since Eric Lindros is making the same transition. The Flyers just went from lacking prospect depth down the middle to potentially having two top centers in the organization. A critical element to any successful organization.
