The Flyers are being counted as down and out. When most pundits talk about the “rebuild” they refer to multi-year timelines and predictions of a long pain full road. However, the road not paved cannot be walked upon and until the road ahead is clearer, any kind of timeline prediction is moot. The reality of the it, is that this is a fluid situation that will require lots of pivots and readjustments as Flyers new leadership moves forward with their plan. With solid drafting and efficient player development the timeline could speed up. However, if there are a slew of injuries like before progress will be halted. If there is anything we can take away from the past 20 or more years of the modern NHL, that there is no one way to win or one path to success. None of the teams that win the cup, win with the same type of team as the last and only a small amount of the teams that turn it around did i through tanking.
