When taking a look at transactions put in place by General Manager Chuck Fletcher and staff the past few seasons, one could make the case there’s been a large amount of reactive type moves. Mainly certain moves fitting the above description have ended up hurting the Flyers more than helping. Which brought forth the question, when was the last time the Flyers made a move that you could legitimately say was a major success for them.
Another thing to consider would be the lack of transactions in a sense. Where players could have been added to the roster that may have helped the team however were not added.
During this week’s Gettin Gritty Wit It episode we dive into the topic above and get into the fact that the past few seasons of Flyers transactions have largely felt like the wrong moves at the wrong times. While also addressing what the Flyers can do to move away from that mentality.Â
Along with that we discussed the topics below:
- Atkinson injury
- Sedlak back to Czechia
- Hayes healthy scratching
- Frost, Tippett, JVR impressing
- JVR on the trade block
- Cam York playing well since his call up
- World Juniors talk
Thanks for listening and for your continued support.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season with family and friends!
Happy holidays. Nothing is fixing the flyers. Let the 10 year rebuild begin. Thanks fletcher!
Fletcher has to go, he’s strung this team with many poor contracts that will be here years from now. He’s a failure.
