The Flyers are becoming a topic of conversation around the league. With all of the changes in leadership happening within the organization, there comes speculation on what players could see themselves in a different uniform for the 2023-24 NHL regular season. Big names such as Kevin Hayes, Ivan Provorov, Travis Konecny, and Carter Hart have been thrown around as rumors swirl about their potential departure. However, It’s important to remember that the large majority of rumors never come to fruition, so don’t get too fooled by names grabbing headlines. When, General Manager, Daniel Briere is saying he’s open and willing to listen to all offers, it does not imply he is willing to trade every player on this team. Briere is simply letting the league know that they are open for business and they have a plan in mind. Doing things like this can save a GM legwork as the phone calls will come to him with offers, rather than him having to chase down every team individually. It’s important to remember that General Managers are always strategizing and considering the long game, so don’t expect all of the moves to come in the immediate, but rather to build on what conversations are being had today. This is only the beginning and the offseason isn’t the only opportune moment to make trades. If they really are doing this the right way, expect the Flyers to win some trades rather than feel like they’re backed into a corner.

On this episode of Gettin Gritty Wit It, Yariv and Vasili explore the current rumors and personnel changes throughout the organization. Listen in as we dissect the current rumor mill and help the fanbase keep their expectations in check.
