After a free fall of 13 losses, both in regulation and not, the Flyers suddenly have a two game win streak to boast and Claude Giroux was named MVP and champion of the All Star weekend. Somehow this small bit of recent good news has taken some of the sting off of a dreadful season for the recent few weeks. Though things are still not even close to in a good place, it does give a strange feeling that maybe there are good things to come. With the recent news of, former star center, Daniel Briere being named as Special Assistant to the General Manager and substantial traded rumors, fans can at least see a path to changing the mediocre tone of the team. Chuck Fletcher, better have a solid plan for the traded deadline and offseason, because expectations are mounting as the team looks to turn their fortune around in a hurry. Short of winning the lottery draft in the offseason, the luck for this team has to be made in the front office. The city of Philadelphia is still a desirable city to play in and the Flyers still live in high regards among agents and players around the league, but the potential must be evident for a quick turn around. A healthy season would be a good start, but the team needs to show that the potential runs throughout the organization to change their fortunes.
