E162 – The Flyers Offseason Game Plan (Ft. The Draft Analyst)
After the largest Philadelphia Flyers press conference in the modern era, the organization is moving forward with a new leadership team and a new message. Fans will remain skeptical moving forward but with Keith Jones and Daniel Briere at the helm there is a lot of comfort knowing that both guys have been loved here for a long time. The surprising hiring of Keith Jones was such a curveball to most that even the negative fans have been somewhat silence as they take their time to find the risk with another hire without direct experience in the role. The combination of a beloved Flyers personality, known for being a knowledgable straight shooter in Jones and the unassumingly aggressive and heroic Briere could be the right recipe for an organization looking to leave the Chuck Era Flyers in the past. At least for now there seems to be the most positivity coming from the Flyers leadership core since Ron Hextall was promoted to General Manager. The question is, will they do what some people expect or will they be able to exceed the fanbases’ low expectations for the 2023-2024 NHL regular season.
