Judging by a lot of the moves made by the team over the past 12 months, it can be inferred that the Flyers look to be channeling the identity of their past Broad Street Bullies days to get them out of mediocrity. The resigning of Rasmus Ristolainen, the waiver wire addition of Zack MacEwen, signing ECHL success Hayden Hodgson, and new incoming free agents Tony DeAngelo and Nic Deslauriers are all signs that the team is trying to play with a lot more edge. This makes sense, because not only has the team been outperformed on the ice, but they seemed to lack the intensity of making things difficult on their opponent and would regularly fall without a fight. The organization has clearly made a stance to make sure that their team turns a weakness into a strength. The Flyers have done this in the past throughout the years to try and re-ignite the culture in the locker room and provide additional confidence to the young players in the room. Combine that all with the addition of blue-collar attitude John Tortorella and you have a team that will at least bring the snarl that fans have truly missed.
