The Flyers have found themselves in an unpredictable position where no one really knows what the team is planning going into the offseason. The only thing that can be agreed upon is that the team needs a top veteran defenseman and some additional leadership. There are non-stop predictions as to what could happen, but nothing is clear until after the expansion draft on July 21, 2021. Once Seattle selects its roster, it’s going to be a free fall of moves that will see plenty of NHL players finding new homes. COVID might of slowed down trades, but it will not stop them in the long run. Teams have money to shed and holes to fill in their lineup. With injuries to Kevin Hayes, Morgan Frost, and Tanner Laczynski that will effect next season, the Flyers, could be looking to add more additional help than anticipated. It’s a huge offseason for the team as it is a make or break for large scale changes if the team can’t turn around the disastrous season of 2020-21.

On this episode of Gettin Gritty Wit It, I welcome back co-founder and best buddy Jamey Baskow to talk about early offseason predictions and narratives circulating the team. Jamey runs all of The Flyers Nitty Gritty editorial services and is leading driver behind our social media presence. He is well tuned into the team and what they plan on doing in the months ahead. While we are all guessing, Jamey and myself have had a successful run of predicting the tone of Chuck Fletcher and leadership even when the fans are screaming for something more drastic. Make sure to follow Jamey on Twitter as he is usually the quickest sources for updates on the team.
