#5D- Phil Myers Player Profile
Episode 11 – Phil Myers is a Rover Rolling into Success
Phil Myers is finally here, and I want to brag about it. Myers was a late bloomer, but what a bloomer he became. Not only does Phil have all of the physical gifts of a top tier defensive prospect, but he seems to have the drive and the work ethic to compete at the pro level. That is clearly indicated by his large leaps in development from season-to-season. Somehow, while un-drafted, continued to improve under the turn-style of coaches he had over the past several years. Fit and focused, Phil Myers is here to compete for a future top pairing role on the Philadelphia Flyers. With such a plethora of talent on the Flyers back-end, it could be a big luxury that all Flyers fans will want to brag about.
On this episode, I go through Myers’ history and potential on episode 11 of the Flyers Nitty Gritty Player Profile series. Hit that like button, hit that subscribe button, and always stay Gritty!!!

Another key Flyer in Ron Hextall’s fabulous rebuild of a team that was going nowhere under GM Paul Holmgren. Hextall put together an amazing group of young, talented players and Phillippe Myers is one of them. The Flyers Young defensive Corp May be the best in the NHL.
He absolutely did a great job in drafting these kids- his problem was, that he thought he had no timetable in getting them to the NHL- Plus he never learned that when u have an excess of talent- use that to acquire NHL talent- a great Chief of Amateur Scouting- but not an NHL GM
Jamey, if the Flyers had the goalie last season that theY had this year, they would have made the playoffs. It must be remembered that both Brian Elliott and Carter Hart we’re injured for long stretches last year and the other six goaltenders who played were either injured, or played poorly. Goaltending is key to winning. -Gregg
