The Flyers played in the second half of a back to back yesterday. After a great season opener against the Vancouver Canucks, last night just proved to be too much, this early for this young Flyers team.

They just took way too many penalties, and Flyers’ Head Coach John Tortorella alluded to that in his post-game presser. He said every time they got momentum, it was then stifled by a penalty.

Morgan Frost appeared to sustain an injury after he went into the boards hard, but he battled through it and returned shortly thereafter.

This was a winnable game, but they eventually lost 6-3. Tyson Foerster stuck up for Jamie Drysdale after he got hit hard. Foerster also received a 10 minute misconduct penalty, on top of the instigator penalty. Tortorella said it was the right thing to do sticking up for Jamie, unfortunately, the Flames scored in the ensuing Power Play. Joel Farabee also stepped in for a teammate later in the game, but Blake Coleman didn’t drop the mitts.

The Flyers next game is in Edmonton. It will be featured on ESPN. There are plenty of games left, so keep up the faith Flyers’ fans.
