Last season, Oskar Lindblom was buried on the fourth line, and appeared to be on the outside looking in for the orange and black, until Head Coach Scott Gordon took over at the helm. Fast forward to this season, and people are really seeing a transformation of this young player. Lindblom has really come into his own under Head Coach Alain Vigneault, so much so, that he is on pace to score 50 goals this season.

Lindblom has taken on a bigger role nowadays. He is a top-six forward, and Vigneault has trusted him to see time on the penalty kill, as well as, seeing time on the second power play unit with the likes of Travis Konecny, Kevin Hayes, Matt Niskanen, and Ivan Provorov. Moreover, it’s good to see Lindblom thriving and relishing his new found roles with the big club.

This young up-and-coming star is really starting to bud at the right time. The Flyers, and the young Swedish forward in Lindblom have been on quite a tear in just his third professional season. They have won the past three out of four games played. Lindblom has tallied 5 goals, 2 assists, has registered 8 hits, 3 takeaways to go along with 3 giveaways, and 16:57 in ATOI in 10 games played. Moreover, Lindblom has tallied 2 Power Play goals, and has registered 1 Power Play assist this season. Lindblom is one main reason the second PP unit has been successful in the early going.

Vigneault really has done a great job with the youth, mainly Lindblom. Under former Head Coach Dave Hakstol, Lindblom’s confidence was shattered, and he was dejected at times. Now Lindblom’s confidence is at an all-time high in North America, and the Flyers are benefitting from his stellar play as of late. This kid seems to be relishing his role as a top-six forward for the orange and black.

The young Swedish Forward is thriving in any situation the coaching staff places him in. His passes have been crisp:

The future is bright for Lindblom, as he becomes more trusted with the coaching staff. Lindblom has been calm, cool, and collected in just his third professional season. For his efforts, it is safe to say he really has become a 5th Round Draft stud for the orange and black.
