Oscar Eklind is a 27-year-old Swedish left winger who signed with the Philadelphia Flyers organization in April 2024 as an undrafted free agent. Known for his size (6’4, 205 lbs), physicality, and two-way game,
Eklind has transitioned from the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) to North American pro hockey, spending his first full season in the AHL with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He’s on a one-year contract extension for 2025-26 and is fighting for an NHL roster spot during Flyers training camp—but as of yesterday (September 25), he was placed on waivers.
Today he cleared waivers, and will report to the Phantoms. I believe the roster now sits at 41.
