One win away, yes just one win away. The London Knights are one win away from hoisting the J. Ross Robertson Cup, which is awarded to the OHL Champion.

The Oshawa Generals had the Knights on the ropes, as the Knights were down 6-2 at one point in game 3 of the OHL Finals. Unfortunately, the Generals couldn’t hold onto the lead, and the Knights prevailed in double overtime 7-6.

It was a crazy back and forth game, but two Flyers prospects again continued their excellence for the Knights during this amazing playoff run. Denver Barkey ended the game with two Power Play assists, while Oliver Bonk registered one goal and two assists, with one goal and an assist being with the man advantage.

Both of these Flyers prospects are excellent with the man advantage, and that should help the orange and black in the future. The Flyers struggled mightily on the Power Play. They had one of the league’s worst Power Play this past season, enter Bonk and Barkey, two Power Play specialists to assist the orange and black at some point.

For his efforts, Barkey now has five goals and 19 assists (24P) in just 17 playoff games this season. Bonk now has seven goals and nine assists in 17 playoff games. Both really have risen to the occasion and have taken their games to another level in crunch time.

As per for the majority of the Knights playoff run, the Flyers top brass was in attendance last night, with the likes of Danny Briere and Keith Jones. Jones has been to the majority of the games in the playoffs thus far, and yes, I’m sure they are scouting Sam Dickinson and Sam O’ Reilly. The Flyers could very well move up to snag Dickinson, if Matvei Michkov does indeed come over and play for the orange and black next season.

What happens next is anyone’s guess, but one thing for certain is the London Knights are a powerhouse. They are a renown hockey program in the OHL, but Mark Hunter (Knights General Manager) has built a powerhouse. With Barkey and Bonk leading the way, this young Knights team are just one game away from glory, with winning the J. Ross Robertson Cup, which is awarded to the OHL Champion.

  1. You say the Flyers ” had one of the league’s worst power plays this season.” They were DEAD LAST in the power play!!! Do the Flyers pay off writers like yourself to “sugar coat” their obvious short comings?
