Olle, Olle, Olle…Olle, Olle, Olle. What a yo yo type of season it’s been for Olle Lycksell. One moment he’s a flyer, the next he’s being sent to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He needed a good Rookie Camp to solidify his status as an up and coming prospect, and Lycksell did just that. Fast forward to a Training Camp, where he impressed John Tortorella.

For his efforts, Lycksell signed a two-year, two-way, $1.575 million contract ($787,500 AAV) in 2023. Lycksell was recalled by the Flyers, post trade deadline as he is pretty seasoned to go back and forth from Lehigh to the Flyers.

Today, the Flyers placed him on waivers, with the intent of sending him back to Lehigh. This was the only way possible that it could be done. Lycksell played in more than 10 games since his recall. He hasn’t been with the big club for more than 30 days so that wasn’t an option.

Lycksell was physical at times. It’s a big thing for this young man, the more he remained confident, the better he plays for the orange and black. Lycksell we’ll head back to Lehigh for the playoff push.
