Alain Vigneault inherited a team that didn’t believe, and was a dumpster fire in 2018-19 while finishing with 82 points (37-37-8). The franchise was forced to turn to an experienced mind to right the ship that was starting to sail after Dave Hakstol struggled to navigate the stormy seas. In just one season at the helm as a Flyers Head Coach, Vigneault made this team a contender by registering a 41-21-7 record, good enough for second in the Metropolitan Division with 89 points.

Unfortunately, Vigneault’s second season as Head Coach of the orange and black was not blissful by any means. Vigneault’s team missed the playoffs and finished with a 25-23-8 (58 Points), which was good enough for 6th in the East Divison, after a season that started with high expectations (Based off finishing one game form the Eastern Conference Finals the season before). Without further delay, here are notes to Alain Vignuealt’s presser with the media before training camp begins, and an update on injured Wade Allison and Samuel Morin.

  1. This new abdominal injury to Kevin Hayes started yesterday. He felt something and had an MRI, “This is a great time for others to step up.”
  2. “This is a great opportunity for him.”– Alain Vigneault on Morgan Frost, which is given the injury to Hayes
  3. Alain Vigneault says that Wade Allison will be out a while, an extended period of time.
  4. Kevin Hayes out 6-8 weeks with abdominal surgery today
  5. Samuel Morin out 6-8 weeks with right knee surgery to remove loose bodies
  6. Wade Allison is out indefinitely with a right ankle sprain
  7. “Some changes needed to be made. To change the team dynamics and personnel on the ice.”
  8. Alain Vigneault said Kevin Hayes was staying positive and texted him, “AV we got this early, and I want to be around the team.”
  9. AV: “We are sort of back to normal”
  10. AV says it starts at camp with line combinations. Many players will get a chance to step up
