Flyers’ General Manager Danny Briere and Brent Flahr held their annual draft presser today in Voorhees. The draft is always interesting for the orange and black, so here are the notes to the presser.
- The Flyers believe they will get a good player with the six overall selection. They will not sell off assets, just to make a trade. The trade has to make sense. Right now, the Flyers feel as though they will make all seven selections for the first two rounds.
- Danny Briere says the Flyers will be making calls, and he presumed that he will be receiving calls on picks/players, but the overall plan hasn’t changed. They will stay the course in the rebuild.
- Danny Briere said he was initially bummed talking two draft spots to pick 6.But, over the course of the past few weeks, with meeting with various players, continuing to watch tape on players. He now feels good about the 6th overall pick.
- Brent Flahr says there are “Unsettled Arguments” over the sixth overall selection. They have a list of 11 or 12 players, and they will narrow that down over the course of the last week or so. Flahr said each guy is advocating for their player, as expected.
