Danny Briere held his annual pre-draft and free agency presser today on June 20, 2024. He spoke on a variety of topics, including an outline for free agency to Matvei Michkov. Here are the notes to Briere’s presser.
- Danny Briere with a smoke screen possibly on trades: “I don’t think there’s anything imminent at this point.”
- Briere said the Flyers are open to trading up and trading back. He also said if there is a Center and a defenseman on the board they both like. He hints at taking the Center.
- Danny Briere says they don’t know about the Matvei Michkov situation, so they will operate as if he is not coming this season.
- Danny Briere says there has been no clarity from the league on the Carter Hart situation
- Danny Briere is officially the prospect guru
- He said he loves to travel and watch prospects. He says he’s seen the top 40-50 guys
- Danny Briere: “We don’t expect to do much on free agency day. We have a lot of dead money on our books.” With Briere saying this, I still find it hard to believe they may buy out Cam Atkinson
