The Flyers acquired Tony DeAngelo, a polarizing figure yesterday before the second round commenced of the NHL Draft. Today he met with Philly media for the first time, here are some of his notes to his presser:

  1. Tony DeAngelo said he had discussions with staying in Carolina around midway through the season. Says he loves Rod Brind’Amour
  2. Tony DeAngelo: “My game won’t change, offensive part to my game, and toughness.”
  3. Tony DeAngelo: “Whatever Torts wants us to do, we got to do.”
  4. Tony DeAngelo on racist comments: “I’m absolutely not racist at all, it’s something I regret, and the person on the team we remain friends today.”
  5. Tony DeAngelo: “We have been in South Philly for about 10 years. We were die-hard Flyers fans, until I got drafted.”
  6. Tony DeAngelo: “I know Joel Farabee he plays for my checking for charity tournament every year. TK I know from Haysey, now we get to continue our friendship (Hayes).”
  7. Tony DeAngelo on Rod Brind’Amour: “He’s a Flyer. He loved being a Flyer.”
  8. Tony DeAngelo: “We (Flyers) have a lot of good players, lot of good prospects, and talent.”

Let’s see what transpires, DeAngelo was acquired due to the uncertainty surrounding Ryan Ellis. How this move pans out is anyone’s guess, but let’s see what happens.
