Carter Hart was one of the best players for the Flyers last season. The Flyers continue to fight through “Speed” bumps in terms of what young player to play, but they are actually playing better than expected by most pundits before the season began. However, believe it or not Hart has played well and on most nights and gives his team a shot to win every single night. Hart has been decisive with his decision making, and has made some nice 10 bell save after 10 bell save at times.
Before the season began, Hart made his Instagram account private, and removed his Flyers bio and social media went through a storm that day. Although, it should be noted that Hart still has Flyers pictures on his account. Through all this, he’s the starting netminder for the orange and black and it turns out he loves the City of Philadelphia, “I’m pretty confident I’m going to be a Flyer. I’m happy to be here, I love playing for this city the organization. I’m happy to be here,” Hart said in his presser on the first day of Training Camp.
Even so much so, he said he loves the City of Philadelphia, yes loves it:

Lot’s of rumors were swirling that him going private on Instagram was correlated to the Hockey Canada investigation, or that he doesn’t want to be a Flyer anymore. That’s just it, these are rumors, “Danny is a good man, I trust him. I love this city, I love this organization,” Hart said.
Through all this, Hart has a 5-3 record, coupled with a 2.34 GAA and a .921 Save Percentage on the season, according to Elite Prospects. He has been built as advertised and no matter how well he does, Hart never credits himself, “I think we did a good job, boxing guys out, tying up sticks. We did a good job of finding sticks, finding shot lanes, a couple of huge blocks,” Carter Hart said following a 3-1 victory against the Carolina Hurricanes.
As it stands, Carter Hart is the franchise goalie for the Flyers as he playing in big contract season. One would think he has a ton of pressure on him, to which he does, but this is nothing unusual. Due to the Flyers lack of success for a few years before Hart’s tenure, he has entered each season with “All eyes on me.” Games are usually won or lost because of Hart, this is all not new to him. The Goaltending position has been one of the most pressured positions in Philadelphia, so this season is nothing different for Hart.
He likes John Tortorella and gets along with him due to his honesty, “I think he’s great (John Tortorella), I think he’s great for our group. He’s demanding, but he’s honest. As a player that’s all you can ask for,” Hart said.
Hart got off to a great start to the season, with his Goals Against Average well under two, and his Save Percentage was well over a .920, as well in 2022-23. Then the orange and black and Hart started a trend of winning one and losing one, and none of that fault lied on Hart himself.

Hart continues to move post to post well, track pucks well, and has a hot glove hand. This might be one of the best defenses that the Flyers organization have given Hart, and his rebound control is quite exquisite from last season. Hopefully, this team continues to find their identity at some point this coming season, as this is a very young team.
In the end, Hart seems to be in good spirits. He has been smiling throughout the season and Hart believes in this team. Obviously, he is happy being in the City of Philadelphia once again.
