The Flyers are in the midst of a youth infused season. Finally, we are seeing some of the hidden talents that have been stockpiled in various leagues throughout the world trickling into the big club. Of course, young players will make their fair share of mistakes; however, should they learn from them and continue to grow, a young and talented Flyers team will also become a dangerous one. These young players will hopefully share the same successes as The Beatles did with their hit album, “Abbey Road.”
Morgan Frost has been recalled by the Flyers, and hopefully he makes this young team a consistent one at the very least defensively. Frost has really improved tremendously on the defensive side of the puck, and for his efforts this could help make this young Flyers team a consistent one.
Frost has proven in just his first Professional season that he can push the play, and play with the pace of the game. Yes, Frost has been a bit inconsistent for the Phantoms lately, however, Frost still has 20 points in 30 games played (8g, 12a) for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
This young man in Frost has earned this call-up, and the Flyers could really use his speed. The Flyers could really use his speed up and down the lineup, and maybe Frost fits in well in Alain Vigneault’s system. Vigneault’s system requires speed and back checking, and that is an area of Frost’s game that has improved the most over the course of the past few seasons, “I like to be a playmaker and an offensive threat, but at the same time a responsible player in the defensive zone,” Frost said to me at training camp. Well, Frosty Frost the Flyers need you more than ever defensively.
To make room for Frost, Andy Andreoff has been loaned back to the Phantoms. Does Frost need more time in the AHL? Yes, but this is the Flyers situation right now until Nolan Patrick returns (Hopefully).
