Flyers star Matvei Michkov was involved in a car accident in Dubai on May 13, 2025, but he was not the driver of the car. A team source has confirmed that he was a passenger in a BMW convertible rented in his name, and according to reports he was uninjured.
The incident is being described as a single-car accident, that occurred during his vacation. No criminal charges have been reported, as of yet anyways.
Again Michkov was not driving and was uninjured, with the Flyers confirming awareness of the incident. However, reports from Russian journalist Alexey Shevchenko (Sport-Express) suggest potential legal issues, as it’s illegal in Dubai to rent a car and not be the driver.
Shevchenko’s Telegram posts also allege involvement of alcohol, prostitutes, and missing travel documents, claiming Michkov may have left the country without proper paperwork, which could lead to further complications. These allegations remain unverified, and no criminal charges have been reported. The situation is still developing, with more details expected.
