Flyers’ Forward Matvei Michkov did suffer an ankle injury during the Summer of 2025, which limited his off-season training and has contributed to his slower start in the early games of the 2025-26 NHL season, per Rick Tocchet.
Head Coach Rick Tocchet confirmed the injury in a pre-game media session on October 13, 2025, stating that Michkov is now fully healthy but “a little bit behind the eight-ball” due to the setback,skating wise, obviously.
This is distinct from an earlier lower-body injury Michkov sustained in 2022 during a KHL Pre-Season game, which sidelined him for about two weeks (initially reported as two months before being clarified). No other significant injuries for Michkov appear in recent reports as of October 13, 2025.
