Wow!!!! That’s all anyone can say about last night’s game between the Flyers and the leagues best Winnipeg Jets. Ivan Fedotov was spectacular, and Matvei Michkov scored the Shootout winner, to earn the Flyers a much needed two points, to stay afloat in the playoffs race.
The lone goal came off the stick of Jamie Drysdale. He made one heck of a shot, as he was open the slot. Drysdale looked a little perplexed at how much space he was given to make a beauty, top shelf over one of the best Goaltenders in the game Connor Hellebuyck.
John Tortorella on Ivan Fedotov: “Feds was outstanding. Playing against one of the best goalies in the NHL in Buck. I’ve put him in some spots. The guys seemed to play well in front of him.”
Ivan Fedotov was outstanding, especially since he hasn’t seen game action since February 6, 2025. Fedotov is proving he’s a backup netminder, as he is providing good start after good start when given the chance, “Work hard. Have to be ready for your opportunity,” Fedotov said following a 31 save performance, which was good enough for a .968 Save Percentage.
Fedotov was good from post to post, and with making some good glove hand saves.
Michkov, or rookie sensation as many call him, has been fantastic. My goodness he is on fire for the Flyers. If he keeps this up, then maybe the orange and black stand a good shot at obtaining the second Wild Card spot.
What a complete game by the orange and black, and they are back in the playoff hunt.
