Matvei Michkov was named to the NHL’s 2024-25 All-Rookie Team, as announced by the National Hockey League yesterday.
The Flyers forward, selected seventh overall in the 2023 NHL Draft, had an impressive rookie season, recording 26 goals and 37 assists for 63 points in 80 games.
He led all NHL rookies in goals and overtime goals (3) while finishing tied for second in points (63). Michkov, who was one point shy of a unanimous selection, joined fellow Forwards Macklin Celebrini (San Jose Sharks) and Cutter Gauthier (Anaheim Ducks), Defensemen Lane Hutson (Montreal Canadiens) and Denton Mateychuk (Columbus Blue Jackets), and Goaltender Dustin Wolf (Calgary Flames) on the team, as voted by the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
Michkov became the 11th Flyer in franchise history to earn this honor, which happens to be the first since Shayne Gostisbehere in 2015-16.
