Matvei Michkov really found his niche with Sochi before he signed with Philadelphia. He’s that scoring threat that people remember, and his hands are pretty slick. Michkov likes to attempt the Michigan, and it will drive John Tortorella nuts when he makes the Flyers, but it’s all and good fun.
There is a Michkov buzz running around the area, and it’s great to see.
Finally, he (Michkov) is signed and delivered with the Flyers. He is exactly what the doctor has ordered for this proud franchise, and the sky is the limit for him. Michkov should be at Flyers Rookie Camp, which should begin in or around September 10th and lasts up until Training Camp begins on September 18.
Michkov was seen on the ice the other day with Egor Zamula and Slava Kuznetsov. He has hit the ice a lot here in the Summer, and he now has turned into the face of the franchise.
Yesterday, my family and I attended the Phillies game, and I happened to see a Flyers sign on the side of the Wells Fargo Center advertising the sale of Flyers tickets. In the picture, the Flyers used Michkov in their advertisement to such, and he could be seen upper left hand corner.
Michkov mania is running rampant through Philadelphia and surrounding areas. He has reinvigorated the fan base with hope, and belief. Let’s see how this plays out Flyers fans.
